Bed bugs are gray or reddish-brown in colour, are oval and flat shaped, and can be approximately 1 to 5 mm (1/16" to 3/16") in size. Bed bugs tend to hide in cracks and crevices during the day and their main harbourage areas in many residential settings are the box springs, mattress and bed frame. Clearing all floor spaces of debris and clutter and removing all sheets from mattresses will help the techician. A visual inspection of the bed mattress, headboard and linens needs to be performed to inspect typical focal areas of infestation.
